I have consistently found the CiviCRM community to be welcoming, inclusive and supportive, and this has inspired me to want to become a part of it. It is great that the open source community allows everyone to benefit from the contributions that each of us is able to make, and I am making my own contributions as I can.
As a software product, CiviCRM is powerful, versatile and extensible and is enjoying active development and growth by the community that uses it.

City Bible Forum

City Bible Forum is an Australian not-for-profit Christian organisation. We need to communicate effectively with our constituents, and CiviCRM gives us a comprehensive set of tools for managing relationships. Interestingly, we often find that new features are being added just as our need for those features is becoming apparent. It's the right fit for us.

I have been involved in the CiviCRM community for over 5 years, and enjoy implementing and programming CiviCRM for a variety of non-profits. I have been amazed at the rapid pace of innovation delivered with each new release, and CiviCRM's flexibility in being able to accommodate a variety of requirements. I have learned a lot about CiviCRM by participating in CiviCon, online forums, and CiviCRM book sprint.

London meet up Wednesday 28th November

Submitted by Peter McAndrew on November 15, 2012 - 08:47

The next London CiviCRM meetup on Wednesday 28th November.  We've run some really sucessful meetups over the last couple of years and we're looking forward to another great turn out.

We'll be running the meetup slightlty different from previous ones.  We'll start with a drop in session from 5:30 to 6:30 for people that are new to CiviCRM and/or have specific questions that they want answered.  We'll run this on a first come first serve basis - so please arrive early if you'd like some help.  We'll then have our CiviCRM meetup from 6.30 to 8.30 with presentations suitable for new and existing users, implementors and developers.  There will definitley be something to interest all levels of experience.   Our presentations so far will be about:

  • CiviBooking - Jamie, Compucorp
  • Direct debit extension (phase ii update) - Parvez Saleh, Veda Consulting
  • CiviSMS - Michael McAndrew, Third Sector Design
  • Chase conference 2013 - Mark Tompsett, QualityTime services

We'll also have a quick update on what is happening in wider CiviCRM community.

If you are interested in giving a short 4-6 minute lightening talk at the meetup please get in touch.

As well as learning about new developments in CiviCRM, meetups are a really great way to connect with other CiviCRM users and increase expand your CiviCRM network. If you are an existing CiviCRM user, these events are a good place to ask and answer questions, hear about other people's experiences, tips and ideas, and meet fellow users. If you are new to CiviCRM, then coming to a meetup can be a great way to talk to people about how CiviCRM will benefit you and your organisation.

The event will be held at: Manta Ray Media Ltd., Finsbury Business Centre, Unit 42, 40 Bowling Green Lane, London, EC1R 0NE.  Which is between 10 and 15 minutes walking distance from Angel, Barican, Farringdon and King's Cross stations.   It's free, and there will be drinks and nibbles and time to network.

Please register at http://civicrm.org/civicrm/event/info?reset=1&id=253 so we have an idea of who is coming along.

Hope to see you there!
