We are currently migrating to civiCRM. We will be using civiCRM for back office to record contributions, manage donor communication and report on contributions received.

CiviCRM is perfect for us because it is based on contributions

Over the past 15 years I've been involved in several open source communities.
CiviCRM is without any doubt the one that has the strongest focus in welcoming "newbies" and letting everyone feel at home here. Another impressive feature is the focus on shipping. No matter what you think of CiviCRM today, you are almost sure that there will be a newer and better version in a few months.

We help many not for profits implement CiviCRM through consultancy, training, configuration and custom development. Many of them come from a painful world of old Access databases, multiple spreadsheets and even paper. It's really satisfying to
help people move on with a system that's so much in tune with their own ethics of sharing and collaboration. We also 'eat our own dog food' and use Civi in-house for our client records because we love the flexibility and control it gives us.

For us it's important to share code and advice with other members of the community when we can because we know we get it back in help at other times. The community really is awesome and one of the friendliest and undaunting I've come across. We appreciate the huge value of the software to us and our clients so we try to contribute back and make it even better.

We produce custom civiCRM/Drupal solutions for professional organizations and societies to satisfy their membership management needs. In its standard configuration, civiCRM provides a great deal of functionality and its integration with Drupal is outstanding.

We are also active in extending civiCRM with custom extension modules which are in development at our Github account(https://github.com/awasson)

I have been involved in the CiviCRM community for over 5 years, and enjoy implementing and programming CiviCRM for a variety of non-profits. I have been amazed at the rapid pace of innovation delivered with each new release, and CiviCRM's flexibility in being able to accommodate a variety of requirements. I have learned a lot about CiviCRM by participating in CiviCon, online forums, and CiviCRM book sprint.

Being part of the CiviCRM community is really something to shout about! Not only is CiviCRM an amazing software package, its designed for organisations that make a difference in the world. We help non-profits across the UK gain control of their data through the power of CiviCRM.

It is without a doubt the best piece of software I've ever worked with, and I'm constantly discovering cool new features. More recently I've been working on CiviMobile as part of a project for my course at University. I'm really looking forward to seeing this being used by organisations across the globe.

In New York City we have been fortunate to have had in person user group meetings. It has been useful to CiviCRM see case studies presented by companies and individuals. To learn about how people use and customize CiviCRM for different types of organizations. It is also useful to meet in person other implementers, developers and users to work with on professional and volunteer projects. I think it is also important and fulfilling to try to share knowledge and resources with others to help sustain the community and project.

Oasis shelter home is a domestic violence and sexual abuse temporary shelter and counseling organization. During the course of a typical year oasis shelter home shelters and councils hundreds of people, both men and women. The organization relies heavily on both grants and donations. Without having a good way to track both the grants and donations CIVI crm was the perfect answer to solving both needs.

The Promise:

The initial promise of this project was to give this organization a secure online system to begin tracking donations. Not only giving them the ability to track those donations but also the ability to better keep touch with those who frequently donate.

The Challenge:

Two major obstacles faced the Oasis House and this project. One being budget and the other being lack of good data to work with.

Project Team:

Eric Ragsdale, owner and operator of West American technologies.
Lea Sevey, Executive Director of oasis shelter home.
Several members of the oasis shelter home staff.

Server & Hosting Requirements:

For this project there were no special server or hosting requirements other than a server and host capable of handling a standard Joomla! installation.
