Written by Josh Gowans, March 5th, 2016

The first two CiviCon’s in 2016 are coming online, both slated for May/June time frame, though on opposite sides of the world; Ft. Collins, Colorado in the United States and Woerden, Netherlands. Both events are great opportunities for everyone from new user to seasoned experts to get to learn about what's happening in the community, sharpen skills, and participate in the CiviCRM project.

Google Summer of Code 2016

Written by Xavier Dutoit, March 1st, 2016

For the 3rd year, our application has been successful and google will pay students to work on CiviCRM for the summer. This is a wonderful opportunity to get new features or improve existing ones. Just as important is the chance to get new contributors that may remain contributors for years to come, to help students discover how to contribute to a "real world" project, and get experience working in an open-source community.

CiviCRM at Altitude: Vail Sprint Update

Written by Steve Kessler, February 22, 2016

Most people going to Vail, CO go to ski. However, some come to work on making CiviCRM even better. High up in the Colorado Rocky Mountains ten people got together to squash bugs, work on CiviCRM for Drupal 8, enhance CiviCRM for WordPress, improve the payment processing tools, and update the end-user documentation.

Feature Extension: Petition Email

The Petition Email CiviCRM extension allows you to automatically trigger an email everytime someone signs a petition. The email can go to one or more static targets or you can do a dynamic lookup of targets by matching the value of a field in the petition signer's contact with a value in a target group's contact.
