Pole Depot

Pole Depot Community Centre is a non-profit organisation that receives funding from the state and federal governments, with use and maintenance of the building supplied by Hurstville City Council. It provides the following services: • Chinese day care—centre-based day care for frail people (two groups: Mandarin and Cantonese speaking) • Carer support—counselling, information, advise and referral services • Respite program—brokering respite services on needs basis • Youth centre • Neighbourhood centre • Child care—before and after school care

Background

To provide Pole Depot with a client management system that was able to cover several programs.

Challenges

Pole Depot’s CRM system is complex, involving services to many different internal processes. It has minimum data set (MDS2) reporting, CiviCase. The system has been in place for a couple of years, is running well and has proved to be stable.

Solution

CiviCRM was able to meet Pole Depot’s requirements by providing: • Case management capability • Flexible data recording to enable recording of all MDS2 data and other compliance as well as information specific to your operation • Fundraising and donor management, including integration with a website to facilitate online donations • Reminder facility for activities including grant applications and client contacts • Recording details on partners, sponsors, etc. • Flexible categorisation, grouping and tagging of records As CiviCRM is open source and was able to be configured to meet the needs of Pole Depot, we considered it the best solution. We have evaluated other CRMs but felt that, coupled with our extensive experience in the not-for-profit sector, CiviCRM is the most appropriate.
