For the past 2 years, the last Wednesday of each January has been earmarked for CiviDay, a worldwide effort to come together and promote all things CiviCRM. This year, CiviDay witnessed 26 events, from virtual meetups to all day affairs, across 13 countries, bringing together newbies and veterans alike to share stories and to learn about CiviCRM and what it can do for organizations everywhere.

CiviDay events in San Francisco and Denver were kicked off with presentations by core team members Dave Greenberg, Tim Otten and Josh Gowans, providing a top level view of CiviCRM, its 10 year history and its funding model as an open source project. CiviDay is more than just in introduction to CiviRM, however. Presentations ranged from complex cases studies from organizations like Bay Area Children’s Theater to breakout sessions covering more sophisticated capabilities to a review of adapting CiviCRM to comply with German tax laws.

With over 9,000 active installations, CiviCRM is a leading open sources CRM for nonprofits and civic-sector organization all over the world. Like other CiviCRM events, CiviDay helps highlight the importance of CiviCRM to organizations everywhere. Take a moment to read a few blog posts from this year’s and past CiviDay events to get a feel for what it’s all about.

Many thanks to all of the partners and volunteers that pitched in to make CiviDay 2015 awesome. Mark your calendars for CiviDay 2016 which will be on February 24th. Let’s make it the biggest yet! And don't forget, CiviCon Denver is right around the corner. If you didn't get enough CiviCRM on CiviDay, then make the trek to the mile high city for CiviCon!
