The role of Technical Developer is key within the Technical team. The role holder will report to the Technology Manager, who reports directly to the Head of Information Services. The team focuses on these main strands of development:-

  • Support and development of key University systems, including Amicus (ThankQ + Drupa/CiviCRM). 
  • Support and development of key CUDAR systems that enhance and facilitate Development and Alumni Relations.
  • Support and development of the Advancement intranet, with over 800 users from across the Collegiate Cambridge (Drupal).
  • Support and development of systems integration between various alumni and supporter services / databases.
  • Support the roll out of above systems to the office and wider collegiate university.
  • Support the training of the above systems within the office and wider collegiate university.

Experience with CiviCRM is highly valued. CiviCRM currently facilitates our online event bookings, online giving, mass e-communications, Alumni Groups and user authentication. The team takes an active role in the open source community around these uses of the application, and contributes code back to the projects where appropriate.

Skills and experience:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent software development experience
  • Essential: Drupal (including custom module development), PHP, HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, MySQL and SQL.
  • Desirable: CiviCRM (including extension development), ThankQ, Windows server, Apache, Java, Linux, The Raisers' Edge, Objective C, PhoneGap/Cordova, GIT and other web development tools (Eclipse, JIRA, Ægir, PHPStorm).
