Managing Donors, Volunteers and Grants With Civicrm
Students 2 Science, Inc.
Students 2 Science operates a large modern chemistry laboratory for the sole purpose of hosting Middle and High School students. Students work side by side with local scientists and operate sophisticated laboratory instruments like spectrophotometers and chromatographs. The students acquire an increased excitement and enthusiasm for studying science (STEM). We make science less intimidating, so that more students will want to peruse STEM related careers. Students 2 Science is supported by generous donations from Corporations, Foundations and Individual Donors. We needed a good way to keep track of our donors, volunteers and Grant applications. Civicrm is the perfect tool for us.
Background
To inspire, motivate and educate students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM Subjects)
Challenges
We are limited only by our funding, so our challenge is to insure we are managing our donors in the best way possible.
Solution
We looked at Blackbaud, but it was too expensive and inflexible. civiCRM was chosen because it is flexible (open source) and provides 90% of the functionality we need.
