Introduction to CiviCRM Mini-series - Part 3: What if your data is really messy?

Data can get messy in a variety of ways. Visitors can fill out forms wrong, de-dupe rules can fail to do everything you hoped they would, and *someone* on your staff can accidentally import data into the wrong field.  Messy data is a fact of database life, but there are a few things you can do in CiviCRM to keep it under control. This 45 minute episode will cover the range of options CiviCRM provides for cleaning up, moving, and rearranging data that is already in your database. We’ll be inviting participants to ask questions along the way that pertain to your particular situation.  Special guest Jessica Burgess, also from Giant Rabbit, will be joining us to lead a portion of the presentation.  Please email Kellie Brownell, though, at kbrownell@giantrabbit.com to let us know that you want one of the 8 seats available to ask questions.

Now that you've cleaned your legacy data and imported it into CiviCRM.  How do you find what you need?  This 45 minute episode will cover the range of options CiviCRM provides for moving around, collecting and exporting your data.  You're probably familiar with the Quick Search and Advanced Search options.  But what about the Search Builder?  And have you ever tried to export a combination of fields only to find out that CiviCRM won't let you.  Join us during this webinar to find out what's going on and how you can get around some of these constraints.  Like last time, we invite participants to ask many questions along the way that pertain to your particular situation.  Adrian Puryear from NASACT will be joining us as special guest to lead this discussion.  Please email Kellie Brownell, though, at kbrownell@giantrabbit.com to let us know that you want one of the 8 seats available

Introduction to CiviCRM Mini-series: Before You Login

You've decided to use CiviCRM.  Now what?  This 45 minute episode will cover what you should (and should not) do before starting to use CiviCRM.  Topics will include how to figure out what data you have, what data you actually use, and what information you need to get from your database over time to do your job well.  These are not easy questions to answer because every organization is unique.  Even though we'll use one organization as an example during the call, we invite you to ask many questions along the way that pertain to your particular situation.  Kellie Brownell from Giant Rabbit will be facilitating the discussion.  Please email her right away if you want to join at kbrownell@giantrabbit.com with (1) your name, (2) organization and (3) one thing you hope to take away from the discussion.  There are only 9 spots available.

Introduction to CiviCRM Mini-series is an experiment.  We want to provide more forums for new users to meet and learn from other members in the community.  The topic for each bi-monthly call will build on the one before it.  For example, the next few calls will cover importing your data into CiviCRM, creating mailing lists, and sending your first mailing.
