Summary

The Wikimedia Foundation is looking for a Lead Systems and Business Analyst to join our team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Process Improvement Programs. As the Lead Systems and Business Analyst, you will provide enterprise and financial system design expertise and technical business support on a range of projects designed to deliver strategic operational improvements.

In this role, you will contribute strategic systems and design thinking and analysis, lead on technical elements of project planning and implementation, and build and iterate systems and tools that contribute to the effectiveness of our business workflows.

Systems Thinking + Design

You will be responsible for analyzing and mapping the current-state of mission-critical Finance, Legal, IT, HR, and Operations systems and capabilities from a people, process, data and technology perspective and perform root cause analysis to inform future-state recommendations.
You will be responsible for analyzing complex business problems relating to systems and/or processes and identifying opportunities to iterate and leverage technical systems, tools, and processes to support the organization’s business objectives.
You will be responsible for developing evidence based recommendations and analysis for C-suite decision makers.
You will be responsible for supporting the development of an overall strategy and managing the implementation of that strategy for our enterprise and back-off technology.
Technical and Business Support for Projects

You will be responsible in certain instances for leading and overseeing the entire process improvement lifecycle on specific projects: feasibility through scoping, requirements definition through specification, system configuration, launch, and production support.
You will be responsible for leading on technical elements of project planning and implementation, including consulting with project stakeholders to understand business problems and translate them into functional and non-functional requirements.
You will be responsible for providing technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and processes that meet business stakeholder requirements.
You will be responsible for implementing, designing, configuring, testing and iterating systems, tools and processes that support cross-functional work and an ecosystem approach to collaboration. On some projects, you will be completing the technical configuration and implementation yourself, on others you will be coordinating with outside technical partners..
You will be responsible for developing metrics systems, running reports, and critically evaluating information and data. You will be responsible for communicating complex data and information in a manner understood by a variety of audiences.
System Adoption + Integration

You will contribute to building a culture of planning and performance across the organization by framing and communicating issues to a wide audience in order to gain understanding and drive consensus on a future vision.
You will support an improved user experience and contribute to the effectiveness of business workflows by designing initial user adoption training, leading train-the-trainer sessions, and managing the initial development of resources and documentation.
You will be responsible for developing tools and approaches for monitoring and evaluating user success of business workflows based on appropriate industry standard metrics.
Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s + 8 yrs related work experience; or Master’s + 6 years related experience; or equivalent work experience in business process analysis, business analysis, management consulting and/or change management
Proven track record of analyzing complex processes and driving execution of improvements
Wide-ranging experience and an understanding of best practices to resolve complex challenges in effective and creative ways
Finance Analyst or Finance business intelligence and reporting experience a plus

Functional knowledge of process improvement methodologies (BPM, Six Sigma, Lean)
Lean, Six Sigma or BPM Certification a plus
Understanding of the free culture, free software, or online rights movements
