Dave Moreton and I have organised a meeting for UK developers and consultants working with CiviCRM in the UK. We want to have a discussion around the following ideas: 1) Localised development and support for non profits that use CiviCRM in the UK, and 2) Improving the links between developers and end-users in UK and the CiviCRM core team. We've been working on a specific project which aims to do this for Local Infrastructure Organisations (see NAVCA website for more information on what LIOs do) and are keen to share learning from this and invite others to be involved. We'd also like to look at the broader picture and hear from people that are tackling similar issues (both in the UK and further afield) and to talk about the possibility of a visit from the core CiviCRM team to the UK this summer. Our overall aim is to make sure that developers, support organisations, and clients are best placed to benefit from and contribute to the CiviCRM community. This meeting follows on from two previous meetings Bristol and Manchester. It will be held at Voluntary Action Westminster, 37 Chapel Street, London NW1 5DP (nearest tube Edgware Road - Circle, District and Hammersmith and City line) from 4-6pm on January 29th RSVP to michaelmcandrew@thirdsectordesign.org.
