2017 Remote Documentation Sprint
This is a sign up form for a remote sprint to work on CiviCRM documentation. "Remote" means that all participants work on documentation at the same time, but not (necessarily) in the same place.
Date/time
We have planned one coordinated 12 hour time window roughly on June 15th/16th when people across the globe will focus their efforts on docs.
Time zone | Start time | End time |
---|---|---|
New York | Thu June 15th at 10 am | Thu June 15th at 10 pm |
UTC | Thu June 15th at 2 pm | Fri June 16th at 2 am |
London | Thu June 15th at 3 pm | Fri June 16th at 3 am |
Sydney | Fri June 16th at 12:01 am | Fri June 16th at noon |
Auckland | Fri June 16th at 2 am | Fri June 16th at 2 pm |
You certainly don't need to spend all 12 hours on docs, but the idea here is that if you jump into the project at some point within that window, others will be online and available to help you become productive.
Prerequisites for attending
To participate in the sprint you'll need to:
- Understand basic git operations, and the concept of a pull request
- Know some markdown (easy to learn)
- Have an account on GitHub and Mattermost
- (ideally, but not necessarily) have followed our steps to install MkDocs on your computer
But don't worry...
- You don't need to be an experienced developer!
- You don't need to be good at writing documentation!
