We produce custom civiCRM/Drupal solutions for professional organizations and societies to satisfy their membership management needs. In its standard configuration, civiCRM provides a great deal of functionality and its integration with Drupal is outstanding.

We are also active in extending civiCRM with custom extension modules which are in development at our Github account(https://github.com/awasson)

CiviCRM is a powerful tool that could be really useful for many non-profits in Mexico.
Unfortunately the community is very small in my country. I hope that in the next years the community expands around Latin America.

I am trying to build a stronger End-user community withing CiviCRM to increase cooperation among non-profits using CiviCRM in similar ways. Going to CiviCRON and being a part of the community at the conference has made me want to make the End-user community more robust. I think the open-source and non-profit focused nature of CiviCRM lends itself to strong community building as is an aspect of CiviCRM that is exciting!

We help many not for profits implement CiviCRM through consultancy, training, configuration, support and custom development. Many of them come from a painful world of old Access databases, multiple spreadsheets and even paper. I love presenting demonstrations to new potential users; many are shocked by the scale of the software. CiviCRM is suitable for so many different organisations as it's been developed to cover so many bases off the back of community calls.

I maintain our own CiviCRM client database; it feeds into our drupal intranet to provide me with all the information I need at a click. I would be lost without it!

I've always been passionate about what non-profits and advocacy groups can achieve using technology. For me, CiviCRM shows an essential example of how non-profit and technology worlds can come together to provide real change - working as community, creating value for yourself, but also for others in non-profit sector.

Do not use v4.2.x for upgrades using Drush - possible data loss

Submitted by Dave Greenberg on October 23, 2012 - 12:11

Update November 1st: CiviCRM 4.2.6 was released today with resolution to this data loss issue. You can review details of the resolution and testing process on the issue tracker. A separate database cleanup script has been implemented to handle the original "problem data" issue.

------------

Update October 25th: The data loss issue is limited to sites using Drush to run the 4.2 upgrade. Web-based upgrades should not have been affected. Nevertheless we strongly recommend that folks who have not yet upgraded to 4.2 wait for the 4.2.6 release due out next week.

---

We've just been notified that running an upgrade to 4.2 using Drush may result in the unintentional loss of some membership and associated contribution data. We think this is limited to memberships that have been renewed one or more times.

If you've downloaded a version of 4.2 (4.2.0 - 4.2.4) but not yet run the upgrade, please hold off and wait for an updated announcement. If you've run the upgrade, you may have seen a message like this: "The following links between this contribution and memberships are successfully deleted:" followed by a list of records. If so, you may need to restore / re-enter the listed memberships.
