Yesterday afternoon the CiviCRM UK usergroup got together for their first proper meeting in Bristol. It was a great chance to meet other users in the UK and be involved in interesting discussion about how we use - and want to use - CiviCRM. It was also nice to go to the dockside afterwards, catch the last of the sun, and watch hot air balloons flying over the city (though at that point, the discussion did move on from constituent relation management). Eleven people came from as far away as Manchester and Plymouth - that's more than half the length of the country - and from a variety of organisations. Thanks to all for taking part - it's good to know there is interest in this sort of meeting. A full record of the meeting is being written collaboratively on this page in the wiki. Our next meeting will take place in Manchester this September. If you want to get involved in the 'what, when and where' then visit the UK forum board.

Thanx michael for organizing the first CiviCRM local meetup and reporting back on it. Your effort and dedication to making this happen has been very impressive. We and other folks in the community should take a lesson from your book and organize similar meetups in other parts of the world.
