We are pleased to announce that registration for this year’s CiviCRM User Summit is live. The event will once again be held in Washington, DC at the Hilton Garden Inn, U.S. Capitol, starting at 1:30 PM on Thursday, September 22nd and continuing all day on Friday, September 23rd. We are offering an early bird rate through July 15th and CiviCRM members get an extra discount!

Friends of Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites is a membership organization that partners with the State of Georgia to protect, preserve, and enhance the state’s treasured places.  Back in 2007, after getting tired of keeping all of their data in spreadsheets and clunky Access databases, they recognized the need for a database to manage its donors and members.

If you travel to DC for work or family frequently you may be tired of doing the same old tourism and want to mix things up. In anticipation of the User Summit, we've compiled a list of a few things to do that aren't on the Mall, that are inexpensive, and are Metro accessible. Back in early 2012, I joined AGH Strategies, a CiviCRM consulting shop in Washington, DC that works with clients to offer support, training, implementation and custom development that fits their needs. At the time, I knew very little about CiviCRM, but that quickly changed when I attended CiviCon and then the Code Sprint during my first month with AGH.
