Event wrangler with the mostest and nptech consultant Bethany Lister first ran through intros, what to do in case of an emergency water landing, and raved about CiviCon.
Local tech and Civi consultant Barbara Miller brought newbies up to speed with CRM and CiviCRM 101 presentations and then blew everyone’s minds by showing off the new CiviVolunteer extension. Barbara even showed off her tech wizardry by successfully pulling off the dreaded Live Demo.
New Portlander and Civi consultant Eliot Mason led the group through the basics of free and open source software. While we’re all FOSS fans, Eliot made sure attendees didn’t leave the event thinking free and open source = magic.

Later during a passionate presentation about Civi and Drupal Webforms, Eliot vocalized what we were all thinking: “Webforms are the bomb.”
Long-time PDX Civi meetup organizer, and everyone’s favorite grumpy cat, Stuart from Korlon LLC, got to put his feet up during this month’s event. We hope all our attendees will check out his fantastic Civi training videos at CiviTeacher.
Fun was had by all. We were especially excited to participate in such an international celebration.
