The Island (theme)

"The Island" is a theme for CiviCRM based for the River theme. It aims to provide a nice out-of-the-box experience for:

• Form Builder and SearchKit
• Mobile devices (narrow screens)
• Dark mode
• CiviCRM Standalone and all other content management systems (CMS), such as WordPress, Drupal 9/10, Backdrop, etc.

The theme has rather strong opinions about:

• Avoiding bold, borders, mixing too many colours
• Reducing visual clutter

There are also extra features, such as:

• Displaying token-based information under the contact's name, when viewing a contact record. Ex: city, membership status, or anything that can be token-based, works well with SearchKit Tokens

Requirements:

• On CiviCRM Standalone: works out of the box
• On Drupal 7: we recommend to set the CiviCRM Admin theme to "Seven"
• On Drupal 10+: works with the Clara theme
• On WordPress: works out of the box - if you are using the "CiviCRM Admin Utils" plugin, make sure to un-check the setting "fix CiviCRM menus".
• Backdrop and Joomla: not actively tested, but it should work.

The Island was previously based on the Shoreditch theme.

To upgrade from Shoreditch:

• Disable/uninstall Shoreditch
• Install this extension
• If necessary, check the settings under Administer > Customize Data and Screens > The Island
