CiviCamp Toronto 2026 Admin Training: Agenda and Presenters Announced

CiviCamp Toronto kicks off with a two-day Admin Training, May 25th and 26th, aimed at folks much like yourself, who need to manage CiviCRM on a day-to-day basis.

We're happy to announce the lineup of speakers and topics for this training.

Your Presenters:

Kathryn Carruthers

Kathryn began her technology career building and maintaining local area networks, developing a strong foundation in infrastructure, problem-solving, and systems thinking. Specializing in open source solutions, Kathryn has deep expertise in Drupal and CiviCRM, helping mission-driven organizations create scalable, sustainable digital platforms that support engagement, fundraising, and community impact. Her work bridges technical strategy and real-world needs, ensuring that the tools nonprofits rely on are both powerful and accessible. Helen Lamb

Helen is a Client Success Manager at JMA Consulting. Previously, she served for 10 years at the British Columbia non-profit Belonging Network, administering their CiviCRM system and constantly pushing the limits of its capabilities. She values software as a tool to support and further the organization's goals and business needs. Helen has 15 years experience designing and presenting courses on desktop applications, for corporate education companies both in the UK and Canada. Stephanie Lauerman

With a background in client services and technical improvements for the ERP software sector, Stephanie got her start with CiviCRM as client during a lengthy stint in nonprofit operations. In 2018 she shifted into consulting to expand her reach and assist in enabling clients to efficiently utilize their systems. Since then she's worked on a variety of client projects, including consulting with several CiviCRM partners. Currently she's focused on Client Success Management with JMA Consulting, where she is committed to ensuring a successful client experience. Allen Shaw

Allen has been helping overwhelmed non-profit teams turn chaos into clarity since 2001, first with custom-built CRM tools, and now – for over 15 years – focusing on CiviCRM as a platform that's built from the ground up for community-driven organizations. Allen is a regular contributor of improvements to CiviCRM, the Group Lead for the CiviCRM Extensions Working Group, and the author of the Mastering CiviCRM Crash Course 10-day email course. The Admin Training program lays out the major components and most common use cases for CiviCRM’s diverse features, covered in an orderly structure, with a mix of live demonstration, discussion, and hands-on exercises for participants.

13:30 - 14:00     Session 4: Finding data (Reports, Searches, SearchKit)
14:00 - 15:00     Session 5: Contribute management
15:00 - 15:15     Break
15:15 - 16:15     Session 6: Event management
16:15 - 16:30     Closing Session
16:30 - 17:00     Extra time, to be used for 1-on-1 assistance and answering questions raised so far

10:30 - 11:30     Session 8: Communications: mass mailings, scheduled reminders, message templates, etc.

14:00 - 15:00     Session 10: SearchKit and FormBuilder: Advanced searching and data intake
