Our active contributor program recognises organisations that have made a significant and sustained commitment to CiviCRM.
Active contributors are recognised on our /experts pages and we encourage them to display their active contributor badge on their website and in other promotional material for their organiastion.
Some examples of ways to gain an active contributor badge:
- sustained commits to our codebase over a period of time (for example Eileen McNaughton's work at Fuzion)
- an ongoing commitment to help with our newsletter
- ongoing commitment to organising a large CiviCRM event (for example AGH strategies role in the CiviCRM user summit, and CiviDesk's role in CiviCon USA)
Organisations with active contributor badges have all made contributions to the project similar to the above. If you think your organisation should be recognised with an active contributor badge, please email michael@civicrm.org with details.
A version 2 of the active contributor program is on the roadmap. We plan to include the following improvements:
- more details on the reasons why each badge has been awarded and when
- ability for individuals, not just organisations to earn the badge
- different levels of badges representing different levels of contributions
As with all CiviCRM initiatives, we will be able to ship this new version of the active contributor program more quickly if we have help from our community in the implementation. If you are interested in making this happen, please email michael@civicrm.org and we'll get you involved. Needless to say, helping develop this new version of the active contributor program will earn you an active contribtor badge!
