The CiviCRM Easy IPN URL extension is pretty simple. It just adds a new link in CiviCRM's Payment Processor listing that displays the proper notification URL, with a single click. This way you don’t have to piece together a URL on your own or instruct clients on how to formulate such a URL themselves.

If you are a medium or large organization and use a payment processor with CiviCRM, and especially if your reporting needs are complex (e.g. political parties that need to report income rather carefully), then you will have run into the challenge of reconciling payment processor income in CiviCRM against your bookkeeping system and/or your bank account.

I'm please to announce the release of a new Smart Debit extension for CiviCRM 4.7.
The new extension is based on the vedaconsulting (https://vedaconsulting.co.uk) extensions for previous releases of CiviCRM but is rewritten and includes a number of new features and enhancements. Development and Testing has been funded by Circle Interactive (https://circle-interactive.co.uk) and implemented by MJW Consulting (https://www.mjwconsult.co.uk).

After a brief stint as a political organizer, Jon spent 13 years working in various capacities at a non-profit legal organization, primarily in IT. In 2010 he co-founded Palante Technology Cooperative and started their CiviCRM department, where he worked for 7 years. Outside of work, Jon can be found engaging in queer community organizing, (dis-)assembling electronics, and training parrots.
This little story about financial transactions has a couple of objectives:
1. share what we want to do for the benefit of each and everyone
2. find out if there are more organisations out there that would be interested
3. even better, organisations out there that want to co-fund and influence!

Some contributions to your organization might be sensitive if widely known. For example, a planned bequest might need to be kept quite confidential since the donor wants to keep its existence private from other possible inheritors or to remain anonymous about their large donation. Or you might want to restrict viewing of membership contributions to the Membership staff, and events registration contributions to your Events organizer.
University of Minnesota Foundation's Crowdfunding Platform Leads to Increased Fundraising and Engagement
Peer-to-peer fundraising is a hot topic these days. With many different options in the marketplace, it can be hard to choose one that'll work with existing software and have all the features you need for a successful campaign.
During the past year, I've been working with a number of medium and larger organizations using CiviCRM, and have found a few gaps in CiviCRM's CiviContribute functionality, particularly around the management of recurring donors, which are often a really important part of a larger organizations' donor base.
To this end, I'm happy to share a couple of extensions that I've been developing to fill these holes, detailed below.

Often, we need to tackle situation where one needs to make partial or full refunds. After this project users will be able to make refunds with friendly user interface and proper database records.
On last year's CiviCon in London we presented the first stable release of CiviSEPA 1.0 - a fully integrated solution for direct debit payments in the Single Euro Payments Area.
Odoo is an open source accounting software. With much more features than only accounting, such as warehouse management, project management, HR management etc.
CiviCRM is an open source software for non-profit and is great in membership management, donor management etc.
For one of our clients we have been working in integrating both CiviCRM and Odoo where Odoo is leading in the financial data and CiviCRM is leading in the contact and membership data.
I’ve been spending a lot of time the past few weeks working with alpha versions of our upcoming 4.6 release, and I’m excited to share some of the cool new features and improvements. This release includes contributions of vision and code from a wide variety of end-users and implementers. The fact that our entire community reaps the benefits reminds me once again of the awesome power of open source collaboration.

I recently had a requirement to allow for export of Accounting Batches to a format that AccountEdge can use. The good news was AccountEdge has many CSV import wizards for many different types of data. The bad news was the layout of the accounting batch export CSV file from CiviCRM did not match what AccountEdge expected. So I set about creating a new export format for CiviCRM which is compatible with the "File ... Import Data ... General Journal Entries" wizard in AccountEdge.

We’re very pleased to announce that Web Access and core team have collaborated to ensure that CiviCRM 4.6 will fully support Sales Tax ( VAT). As of the conclusion of the Edale London sprint we’ve merged this functionality into the master branch.
Direct debit is vital for donations in continental Europe. It's widely available, reliable, and now it could be for free! SEPA -the "Single Euro Payments Area"- harmonized money transfers throughout the EURozone, allowing for easy direct debit payments between any of the 18 EUR countries.

During the week-long sprint in northern California following CiviCon, we've been working through the design and amendments required to complete the implementation of Tax within CiviCRM.

As most not-for-profit that wants to collect online donations or has a membership base, you probably have the opportunity to have more donors giving small amounts on a monthly basis, but you have not been able to explore it given the high fees on credit cards transactions. If your organisation is based in Europe, SEPA is offering you this option.
If you are using Authorize.net as your payment processor (or your clients are) for either one-time payments or automated recurring payments, then my guess is that like me you probably dread the phone call from a bookkeeper such as
"I found some Authorize.net transactions that went through and the money is in the bank, BUT there is no record of the contribution in CiviCRM. What happened?"
Vanco Payment processor
BackOffice Thinking is pleased to release the Vanco payment processor to the CiviCRM community. Today we are releasing versions for 3.4x and 4.1x and hope to have a 4.2x version shortly.

I am starting a project that will allow CiviCRM to support the needs of an Australian non-profit. This non-profit is subject to the Australian Goods & Services Tax rules (GST) for some but not all transactions.
The GST requirements apply whenever the non-profit provides a tangible good or service in exchange for a payment. This is most common with their dinners, selling DVDs, and items from their gift shop.

My name is Mark, I run a small consulting Firm in Vancouver Canada. I have been working with CiviCRM since 2009 and have implemented customized solutions with it for 7+ clients. I have several clients who use CiviCRM and CiviContribute and at the end of each year there is always a moment where they mention their wish list to be able to generate a CRA [Canada Revenue Agency] compliant tax receipt for each of their Contributors. The benefit of CiviCRM is that it brings together all the appropriate information for a contact to be mailed/emailed and contributions for any given year.
Recording multiple payments on one contribution, and dividing one payment among multiple contributions
A member sends several separate payments to cover outstanding dues on a single purchase, like an expensive membership or a table at an event. How are you going to record this?
A conference participant selects “Pay Later” on several different event registrations, and later wants to pay them all in a single credit card transaction. How are you going to support this?
