During the UK sprint last December a couple of people (mainly Kevin andKlaas) have worked on the Wordpress Caldera Plugin. Since May 2022 theCiviCRM Community took over the maintenance of the caldera forms plugin(not to be confused with the Caldera CiviCRM Plugin). Since April the 5th the wordpress plugin Caldera Forms is end-of-life. Meaning that the maintainer behind this plugin won't provide any official updates anymore.
Last year we had two video calls in which, we talked about possible alternatives. Since then developments have gone further so I think it is time to have another video conference where we can inform each other on what has been done in the past months, and which developments lay ahead.
This week we had a Form Builder and Search Kit sprint in Otterlo, The Netherlands. The aim of this sprint was about sharing knowledge and ideas around search kit and form builder.
Sharing, Sharing and Sharing...
We started with sharing use cases from clients from CiviCooP and civiservice.de. Christophe shared how CiviCRM is used at Mediwe. Coleman from the Core Team shared the story behind Search Kit and Form Builder.
CiviCRM Configuration Loader Version 2 is out! This version is developed and refactored with funding from Deutsche Stiftung für Engagement und Ehrenamt and Bündnis der Bürgerstiftungen Deutschlands.
Yesterday we had a second video call about the future of caldera. Main question was how can we collaborate together whilst supporting clients who are currently using caldera and who can not migrate easily within a short time.
Most of us had clients who are using Caldera Forms plugin and those forms are not easily rebuild in another tool (if there was another tool available, more on that later).
At the end of this month the wordpress plugin Caldera Forms will be end-of-life. Meaning that the maintainer behind this plugin won't provide any official updates anymore.
Caldera Forms & add-ons will be sunset/retired on 31 Dec 2021 by the company behind caldera forms.
