There are various CiviCRM events coming up in London this February, indeed there is 'something for everyone' regardless of your level of experience and familiarity with CiviCRM.  If you can't make it over to the US this April, you should definitley consider participating in one or more of these events...

CiviCRM meet-up

We are starting off on the 8th February with a CiviCRM meet-up - an informal after work event at Third Sector Design's offices at TechHub, Old Street.  We'll have two presentations showing off what you can do with CiviCRM, a Q+A session and a chance to meet and mingle with other CiviCRM users and developers.  Meet-ups are free a great way to get to learn more about CiviCRM and are suitable for those that are new to CiviCRM as well as people that have been using it for years. Register for the meet up here

CiviCRM user and administrator training

Thursday 23rd to Friday 24th February is a two day user and administrator training which takes you through everything that you can do with CiviCRM out of the box (fundraising, event management, email campaigns, membership management, etc.).  The training costs £400 and is suitable for those that are new to CiviCRM and for current users and administrators that want to better understand how CiviCRM works.  The trainers include Oliver Gibson from Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation and Michael McAndrew from Third Sector Design.  Both trainers have worked with a wide variety of UK non profits, have close connections to the core development team, and are ready to help you make the most out of your CiviCRM installation.  Event fees go toward meeting the expenses involved in running this training.  Any surpluses will go toward improving CiviCRM and the CiviCRM community. Register for the training here

CiviCRM code and documentation sprints

Following the training, we'll be having a week long code and documentation sprint 27th February to 2nd March to work on further developing and improving CiviCRM.  The code sprint will be concentrating on the new CiviMobile platform and improved testing for CiviCRM.  The documentation sprint will look at documenting new features and improving existing documentation.  Sprints are a great way to contribute to CiviCRM, get to know others in the CiviCRM community, learn some practical skills , and take your involvement in CiviCRM to the next level.  You'll be working alongside CiviCRM experts (like Lobo and Kurund) and by the end of the week you will have learnt and contributed a lot. We are also open to other ideas for participation as long as there is a practical output at the end of week.  Get in touch if you want to talk further and register for the sprints here.
