Scotland joined the civiCRM community in great style at their first meet-up organised by Graham Clarkson of Queensferry Rotary Club and Marcus Wilson of Pooka in the beautiful centre of Edinburgh on Monday 4th December.
A good mix of end users, potential users, implementors and developers got together in MacMillan Cancer Support’s offices to learn more about the community and see a demonstration of how the Rotary Club use CiviCRM to help them successfully manage their hugely popular charity abseil.
The relaxed atmosphere prompted a deal of useful information sharing and the range of attendees came up with some really good questions and answers. The next meet up will be organised for some time in the new year with an aim to run one quarterly from now on.
In future meet ups we hope to showcase many of the really useful CiviCRM components available, so if you have a specific need or experience/ expertise please do get in touch and we’ll keep you in the CiviCRM...Read more

Thursday 23th and Friday 24th of March we are having a mini-sprint in the Ede (NL) in which we will fix CiviCRM bugs. We are with four of us already (Erik Hommel, Alain Benbassat, Klaas Eikelboom and me) so it is going to be fun! That is the main reason and the other reason is that we want to contribute to CiviCRM Core.
Our plan is to have two days for fixing CiviCRM bugs once in the month or once in the two months. But at least regularly and fitting to our busy schedule.
So if you are in the neighborhood we want to invite you for joining us so it going to be more fun.
The dates we have planned so far are:
- Thursday and Friday 23th and 24th of March (in Ede, NL)
- Thursday and Friday 18th and 19th of May (location to be decided, possibly Antwerp)
If you want to join us drop me a message on the chat or send me an e-mail on firstname.lastname@example.org
You are invited to the first CiviCamp in the UK, brought to you in Manchester, the “uncrowned capital of the north”! Firstly, for those not familiar with the term, what is a CiviCamp? It’s a bit like a CiviCon, the annual conference for CiviCRM, where people gather for workshops and networking, to get a better idea of what CiviCRM is capable of and how to implement it more effectively in their own workplace.
This CiviCamp is mainly focused at users and those who are exploring CiviCRM to implement, but we also welcome implementers and developers to come and share their knowledge with others, and to pick up ideas from the community.
We already have some confirmed workshops, including: Introduction to CiviCRM, Using CiviEvents to manage training, Data Protection for the Third Sector, CiviHR, Open Data, CiviCRM and SMS, and the CiviBooking Extensions.
There will also be time to bring your own issues and questions in our ‘Birds of a Feather’ sessions to explore...Read more

2nd june 2016. we organized the first Budapest CiviCRM Meetup. Unfortunately the attendance was low. We discussed the state of CiviCRM in Hungary, as now only 25 sites registered and 21 uses in Hungarian language. Spent some time on the modules, shared our thoughts. Next Budapest CiviCRM Meetup will be in September this year.
