This was a "premiere" for us organizing a Meetup in Paris, on a special occasion for CiviDay !
We had 8 participants, mainly users, and recruited a new organization (using CiviCRM) in the community. There was a strong demand for trainings in French on the solution.
We had great discussions, and all wished to make our French community grow and be more active. Other Meetups will definitely come !

CiviDay 2014 in Denver was for sure a resounding success!
With more than 55 registrants and a packed full-day program, everyone whether newcomer or experienced user learned a great deal about CiviCRM, networked with their peers, and got all their questions answered!
The day was quicked of by a short presentation on CiviCRM, CiviDay and the power of an Open Source community. We then (literally) split the conference room in half, and had around 30 newcomers learn about what CiviCRM is and what it can do for your organization, while the 15 or so experienced users attended a presentation on CiviCRM extensions and even had a walkthrough on how to create a small extension to reorganize an online form. Then, after a short coffee and pastries break, it was time to head back in the rooms. This time the larger room had a couple of existing users testify about their experience with CiviCRM, while the geeks learned about creating successful email marketing campaigns with CiviCRM...Read more
Yesterday the New York City CiviCRM group was out in full-force to celebrate CiviDay, an international celebration of the worlds best constituent relationship management solution for Non-Profit, Advocacy and Political organizations. My company, Web Access, along with Rayogram co-hosted the event which was attended by 22 people which included implementers, end users and organization’s who were evaluating CiviCRM.
We split the day into two sessions, first a co-working day/help desk led by myself and Kurund Jalmi from the CiviCRM core team, followed by CiviDay Meetup in the evening. Since we had a big group we decided to split into 2 groups, one for more experienced/advanced users and another one for beginners. Advanced group worked together on bug fixes and customizations, while those...Read more

At the London Meetup last night, the idea of having a CiviCRM co-working day was discussed, so we are certainly planning to do that in London on CiviDay 2014 (Wednesday, January 29th), and wouldn't it be great if the same pattern could be followed around the world. The idea would be that the CiviDay Meetup in the evening would be at the same venue as the Co-Working day, ie that we book a venue for the whole day and into the evening, and that the venue has good wi-fi available and access to refreshments.
The idea of co-working is a bit like a sprint, except that you work on anything that is CiviCRM-related (eg customer-related work), rather than specifically towards the CiviCRM project as you would in a Sprint. (I regularly attend Drupal co-working days, and find them really useful as I get to meet others who work in the Drupal community, whom I would not normally get to meet, and I can ask others about how to solve particular problems, and get answers that are not only so...Read more
