dev-team - official CiviCRM announcement

CiviCRM version 5.44.0 is now out and ready to download. This is a regular monthly release.

Upgrade now for the most stable CiviCRM experience:

Users of the CiviCRM Extended Security Releases (ESR) do not need to upgrade, as there are no ESR-specific bug-fixes or security issues at the moment. The current version of ESR is CiviCRM 5.39.x.

We are committed to keeping CiviCRM free and open, forever. We depend on your support to help make that happen. We thank all our partners, members and ESR subscribers, who are regular financial contributors. If you can, please donate.

What's new in CiviCRM 5.44

This version changes the database schema, has changes to the API, as well as the usual bugfixes and minor feature improvements.

  • Activity Import: Prepend custom group title to custom fields (21318)
  • Afform: Accept default field values from the url (21606)
  • SearchKit: Adds is_primary as a default SearchKit filter (dev/core#2852: 21574), Add UI for arithmetic equations (21600), Add pseudo-fields for row number and current user (21435), Support custom fields in bridge join entities (21424), Filter search listing by creator (21388), enable tags for Saved Searches (21376), Add 'array' option to download API (21363), Sortable column fixes/improvements (21720 and 21894)
  • Message Templates: new core extension "message_admin" is now included in the build, but is currently hidden and not enabled by default.
  • Api4: Add Contact.age_years extra field to make age calculations easy (21718), Add support for sql equations (21551), Add Survey and PrintLabel entities (21500)
  • As usual, a ton of tiny tweaks and fixes that make CiviCRM more fun to use, and the source code more entertaining to read and improve. This humble editor often struggles to decide what is relevant to include in the above short summary. Feel free to give us a shout on the CiviCRM chat.
