In the week of 20-25 September 2012 we will have a CiviCRM code and documentation sprint in the South West of England. The idea is to have as many community members present as possible so we can make good progress on writing code, improving the books and having a good time! This event will follow CiviCon in London on 19 September 2012 and is located in the small North Somerset village of Butcombe about 20 minutes south of Bristol. Food and accomodation is provided. We do expect you to pay for your own travel expenses, but if this a problem for you please contact us - lifts may be available from London or Bristol. If you're travelling by air at all around this time, please note that Bristol Airport is about 10 minutes away, much less hassle than Heathrow or Gatwick and may be a good option.
You can take part for any number of days, but please let us know what dates you plan to be there for. The sprint will be primarily a code sprint, but will also cover documentation and the Floss Manuals (http://book.civicrm.org) and if there are enough participants we might also make progress on videos.
We expect you to have a basic understanding of developing software, MySQL and PHP. For those of you that feel you are not familiar (enough) yet with CiviCRM development, there is the possibility to ask for developer guidance during the first 2 days of the sprint.
