Works with CiviCRM 6.16 or higher.

SMS Delivery Providers

CiviSMS Connect brings SMS and rich messaging to CiviCRM through a provider-independent architecture.

It includes direct adapters for Alinto, Brevo, Mailjet, SMS Partner and Twilio, plus a generic SMPP 3.4 transport for SMS providers such as OVHcloud and Infobip.

Highlights

  • Worldwide phone-number handling: bundled libphonenumber support validates and converts national or international numbers to E.164 before delivery.
  • Safer campaign targeting: allow or deny destinations by country, number prefix or number type, including premium-rate, shared-cost, pager, personal and VoIP ranges.
  • Existing database cleanup: audit, normalize and reclassify CiviCRM phone records while preserving fax, pager and voicemail entries.
  • Provider-aware rich composer: create RCS text messages, rich cards and carousels with images, video, suggested replies, telephone actions, links and in-conversation WebViews.
  • Delivery and engagement reporting: collect provider-supported delivery, failure, read, response, STOP, cost and fallback data in a rich messaging campaign report.
  • Two-way messaging: provider webhooks can record delivery receipts, replies, button responses and inbound media as CiviCRM activities.
  • Secure inbound media: authenticated downloads, strict provider-origin checks, MIME validation, a 16 MiB limit, durable retries and private CiviCRM attachments.
  • Extensible inbound provider contract: add-on connectors can register their own authentication, parser, status mapper, response format and media retriever without duplicating CiviCRM workflow logic.
  • Production-oriented SMPP 3.4 support: outbound queues, DLR and mobile-originated processing, TLS, configurable TON/NPI, bind modes, GSM 03.38, Latin-1, UCS-2 and UTF-8 decoding, and multipart SMS reassembly.
  • Optional MediaScaler integration: validate and publish reusable HTTPS media assets while linking their metadata to the originating CiviCRM activity.

Rich messaging is currently implemented for SMS Partner and Twilio.
