We often underestimate the power of community in any open-source project.
A strong, engaged community is essential for the growth and evolution of software. Here's another excellent example of why we should all be proud of the CiviCRM ecosystem.
At Third Sector Design, we take pride in using technology to make a difference in the social sector. We work with nonprofits of all sizes, helping them achieve their mission often with CiviCRM at its core.
Even so, minor friction points sometimes pop up that can derail the user experience.
Recently, we tackled a small but significant enhancement in CiviCRM FormBuilder: improving user experience by adding the confirmation message displayed after a form submission.
Previously, site admins had to create a separate page to display a confirmation message. This approach wasn't ideal as it created an unnecessary dependency on the content management system like WordPress, Drupal etc, and admins had to create a separate page for each form if they wanted a custom message. For standalone CiviCRM sites, this limitation was especially problematic.
A few of our clients needed this feature, so we thought it would be a great addition to CiviCRM core. When we checked the CiviCRM issue tracker, we discovered that several other users had already requested the same feature.
We reached out to them to see if they would be willing to collaborate and share the cost of development and most of them agreed!
When you are creating a form with FormBuilder you can add a confirmation message in the settings.

Once the form is submitted, the message is displayed directly, no extra page required:

Thanks to this collaboration, the feature is now part of CiviCRM core. We are grateful to Progressive Technology Project, CiviCoop and Civi Service for working with us to make this possible.
A special shoutout goes to Coleman Watts from the CiviCRM core team for his help with code review and guiding us across the final finish line.
This is a perfect example of how community collaboration not only solves problems but strengthens the ecosystem for everyone.
