Provides automatic formatting for phone and postcode fields.
- Backend Contact Edit: force US/CAN phone and postcode format (for normal edit and inline edit). Placeholders are shown only when we click in the field (otherwise they can be annoying/distracting to admins).
- Front-End Profile Edit: phone and phonext will get placeholders and apply formatting. Placeholders are always shown. Email field is changed to type=email.
Currently FormBuilder is not supported (see issue #1).
There are a few similar extensions:
- Phone Input Mask - Very good for phone numbers specifically, and enabling different formats simultaneously.
- Normalize - For automatically formatting names (first/middle/last), and also has features for formatting phone numbers and zip codes. The normalization is done as a Scheduled Job, so it can be useful to run this after a data import.
- Civi Input Mask - "configurable input masks, phone-number formatting and real-time casing rules on QuickForm and Afform forms"
