POSITION SUMMARY:

 

A national not for-profit patient organization is seeking a Database Manager. This position will take ownership of the organizations data management needs. This position will provide leadership, direction, and innovative solutions managing the Civi CRM database. This position interacts directly with end-users to understand the business requirements and technology objectives in servicing data requests.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Take ownership of the CRM database and be the resident Civi subject matter expert
  • Work with outsourced developers on Civi enhancements, integration with other data channels, web services, and testing
  • Maintain the Civi database infrastructure including installation of periodic updates and extensions
  • Participate in the continuous efforts to improve and enhance performance and functionality of the CRM platform
  • Manage the updates and maintains policies and procedure for database manual, as well as provide continuous training and education to users in order to improve the processes for inputting and overall database efficiency
  • Manage and maintain reporting requests and/or data extracts for individual users or departments
  • Troubleshoot and provide technical support in resolving operational issues
  • Work with departments in the planning and implementation of database updates, database changes and all other outside system that integrate with Civi
  • Manage quality assurance (QA) process to ensure new records are following the style guide and have correct information
  • Develop custom excel spreadsheets tools to manipulate data when Civi is insufficient
  • Design and develop custom reports within Civi

 

 

 

SKILLS:

 

  • Expert knowledge of database development administration, maintenance, and performance tuning
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to understand user requests and translate them into technical requirements
  • Experience with documenting new and existing processes as well as updating existing documentation when changes are necessary
  • Experience working with customer relationship management applications, preferably Civi CRM

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline. Equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience is also acceptable
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel,
  • Experience working with non-profits very desirable
