CiviCRM v1.7 has been in beta for quite some time. We've had 1000+ downloads and hence a fair number of installs and upgrades. The rate of issues being filed has dropped significantly and we will push out a final release next week. As with other CiviCRM releases, we will periodically update the final release with critical bug fixes and security updates. We hope a longer beta period results in far fewer revisions. The team has started work on CiviCRM v1.8. As mentioned in previous blog posts, v1.8 is our last php4/mysql4 compatible version. We hope to have a short development cycle for v1.8 and incorporate only important features in this release. The current feature list is documented here. Feedback and comments are more than welcome on the wiki page. Some of the exciting feature for 1.8 are CiviReport, De-Dupe and Price Sets (thanx to Marshal Newrock Ideal Solutions LLC for this) We launched support via forums early last week. The response has been very positive and most of the traffic has migrated from the mailing list to the forum. There have been 280 forum posts in the past week. We will continue to provide support in a timely manner and hopefully the forum makes it easier for more in the community to step up and help their fellow CiviCRM'ers. Judy Hallman has done a tremendous job of restructuring the CiviCRM FAQ. The new FAQ is now part of the CiviCRM documentation effort led by John Kenyon. We are still looking for documentation maintainers. Please help out by signing up here.
