CALL FOR SESSIONS!

We are looking for community members to present on various topics and capacities. Sessions will include presentations on specific topics or case studies, panel discussions/roundtables, overview sessions on CiviCRM features and Lightning Talks (quick 5-8 minute presentations).

There will be several overview sessions highlighting the features of CiviCRM if you would like to contribute to one of these sessions please let us know. If you are willing to present a session, contribute to session or do a lightning talk at CiviCon UK please submit your session. If you are willing to present more than one session please submit the form for each session you want to present.

After submission we know that you are willing to present a session and as soon as we know the complete session list we will confirm whether your session has been accepted or not. Please contact Louise at events@civicrm.org if you'd like to discuss your session first.

And here is a sneak preview of what sessions have already been confirmed:

What's new in CiviCRM v4.7 and beyond!

  • We’ll kick off with an overview of new changes in CiviCRM that have been happening in the last 12 months, including improvements to reporting, mailing and of course the new user interface.

Using CiviCRM with Drupal

  • In this session we will look at the basics of Drupal Webforms, Drupal Views and Drupal rules integration and what they can bring to your CiviCRM system. We will examine the differences between CiviCRM's built in Contribution/Profile forms and what is possible using an integrated CiviCRM Webform and what more you can do to integrate your CMS with your CRM.

CiviAccounts: An introduction and whats new in 4.7:

  • Over the past year there have been some big improvements to CiviCRM’s accounting features under the hood.
  • Learn how to organize your financial data and configure your installation so that you can improve your data flow, avoid double entry of financial transactions into multiple systems, and let your fundraisers and accountants live in harmony. We’ll also show the integration of invoicing and sales taxes (VAT) for CiviCRM as well as the integration with other platforms including the widely used Xero cloud platform.

Using CiviCRM modules (Membership and Events!):

We’ll have a session on each of the major modules for CiviCRM including Events and Membership, giving you an introduction and tips and tricks to get the most out of your CiviCRM implementation.

CiviHR: The story so far!

  • HR is hard. Especially for non profits who not only have to track employees, but a high turnover of temporary staff and volunteers as well. Currently, the only option for non profit organisations are a suite of expensive commercial solutions designed for companies, or a raft of homegrown systems, spreadsheets and processes. CiviHR is a unique project that creates a great open source human resource management software for non-profit organisations.
  • During this session you'll get a chance to see how CiviHR could benefit your organisation as well as a showcase of the full product including new developments.

Using CiviCRM module: CiviCRM Cases + New CiviCRM UI

  • Over the past 12 months, the Core team and Compucorp have been collaborating on bringing the exciting new developments of the CiviCRM user interface from CiviHR into CiviCRM. But the changes are more then skin deep and during the session we will run through the story of how we developed a new design language for CiviCRM, talk about some of the technical challenges that we needed to overcome and finally we’ll be lifting the lid on the new look and feel! We’ll also be showing some of the exciting new developments that will be using the new interface design, including the new drag and drop mailing module, the overhaul of CiviCase and the future of CiviHR.

If you weren’t lucky enough to be one of our winners - don’t worry - there is still time for you to book your place and make the most out of all the opportunities CiviCON UK has to offer!
