I'm happy to announce that we've finally gotten our act together and configured a complete public demo for the Joomla! version of CiviCRM 2.1. Joomla! users and integrators will finally be able to try out CiviCRM for Joomla! without going through the process of setting up their own site. We think this will be a good step forward in strengthening the Joomla! part of the CiviCRM community. The front-end demo site includes links to test-drive public-facing features:
  • online contribution page
  • membership signup page
  • event info and registration page
The administrator demo site gives demo users access to the full range of CiviCRM "staff / back-office" features, including:
  • contact entry and search
  • recording contributions, memberships and event registrations
  • configuring custom fields and profiles
  • configuring online contributions pages and events
  • adding CiviCRM-related front-end menu items
  • and lots more...
As with the CiviCRM Drupal demo, we will be automatically resetting the demo database to a default set of sample data, menus and content periodically. So don't be surprised or alarmed if data that you enter "disappears" at some point. We have also disabled any email output from the site to ensure that it is not used for spamming. Given the open login to administration the site, any information you enter on the demo is available to the world - so please do not enter any private or confidential data. If you have questions or suggestions about the Joomla! - CiviCRM demo, please post them to the Using CiviCRM forum board.
