Announcing CiviCRM 4.2.4

This release replaces 4.2.3 which was pulled due to a syntax problem in the upgrade script.

If you've downloaded 4.2.3 and not tried the upgrade yet, you can trash that tarball and then download 4.2.4.

If you tried to upgrade using 4.2.3 and got the fatal error, you can download 4.2.4 and safely run the upgrade again.

if you used the 4.2.3 release to install a NEW CiviCRM site, no additional action is needed. (The bug does not affect new installs.)

The 4.2.4 release includes ~70 bug fixes. We recommend that site administrators review the issue queue and apply the upgrade in a timely manner. You can download the release from SourceForge, and you can also test drive the release on each platform using the public demos:

What's new in 4.2?

Downloads

You can download the release from SourceForge - select from the civicrm-stable section. The filenames include the 4.2.4 labels, e.g. civicrm-4.2.4-drupal.tar.gz or civicrm-4.2.4-joomla.tar.gz or civicrm-4.2.4-wordpress.tar.gz. Make sure you're downloading the correct version: for Drupal or Joomla or Wordpress.
