Yesterday the first CiviCAMP in Berlin finally came true after two Covid-related postponements. In spite of the camp's announcement being somewhat on short notice, some 75 peope showed up. We enjoyed 15 great sessions, met old and new friends and were all every excited to finally meet face to face again.
Among the extensions that rose most interest were
- Custom Event Communication that provides configurable automated event emails as well as personalized attachments when combining it with "mail attachments". It can be combined with a number of other new(ish) extensions to really upgrade CiviCRM's event and participant managing features. Have a look at these extensions for inviting contacts to events, checking them in using QR codes and/or to provide a whole new approach to configure and render event registration forms
- CiviOffice - will soon have its first stable 1.0 release and allows you to generate personalized PDF files based on docx and odt templates.
- A new extension for managing volunteers and physical resources still lacks documentation which will hopefully change during the sprint. Documentation will also cover it's integration with event participants as well as it's utilization of the versatile entity construction kit to create custom entities for physical resources.
Stay tuned for news from the sprint that started today and will go on for the week!
