Stripe now supports TWINT/iDEAL payments

At MJW we develop and maintain quite a number of different extensions for CiviCRM. But the one that is by far the most popular and has helped us make a name for ourselves in the CiviCRM community is the Stripe payment processor.

The extension was not originally created by us, but in early 2018 we took over ownership and maintainership after a recommendation by the CiviCRM core team.

So, today, we're proud to release another version with some new features. Stripe is pretty robust these days and you might even be disappointed when you read the release notes - we don't like to make big changes to something so important to many organisations.

The 6.12.0 release includes support for TWINT (Switzerland) and iDEAL (Netherlands) payments when using the Stripe Checkout integration - thanks to iXiam for funding that work. Of course, we also included a few small bug-fixes to keep everything running smoothly.

Stripe and Stripe Checkout

What's the difference? The CiviCRM extension supports two payment processors out of the box. Both work with Stripe. The original and one that you probably know well is "Stripe" which puts the card payment details directly on your contribution page. But we've also been shipping the "Stripe Checkout" integration for a while now - that goes off-site to a Stripe-hosted page to accept payment and supports a lot more different payment methods, including direct debits, bank transfers etc.

Custom Development / New Features

MJW provide custom development and support for many different extensions. If you need help with configuration, troubleshooting, implementing a new feature or anything else just reach out to us and see what we can do for you!
