Calling out for submissions for lightning talks and extension showcase session submissions (and a reminder that the full session submissions deadline is coming up this Friday 19th August!)

About the lightning talks and extension showcases:

The lightning talks and extension showcases take place just after lunch on day 1 and day 2 of the event in the main hall.

A lightning talk is a short presentation that lasts just up to 5 minutes and can be on any topic (loosely related to Open source and CiviCRM!)

An extension showcase is similarly short, but is a way for you to introduce and explain to people all about the great extensions you’ve made.

These shorter talks are an excellent thing to do if you want to get involved with CiviCon, or have a great topic to talk about, but don’t want to make the time commitment for a full session. These are great choice because they are brief and to the point. They’re also great if your topic doesn’t really require all of the depth and detail of a full session, but is still something worth talking about.

The process for submitting your lightning talk  or showcase is very simple and straightforward.  They can be submitted through the same process as the normal session proposals, just enter all of the details about the lightning talk or extension showcase into the session proposal form that can be found here.

An example of a lightning talk is this one by Björn Endres. All of last years talks can be found here.

We look forward to receiving your submissions and seeing you at CiviCon London 2016!

PS. Last chance for session submissions!

The final deadline for session submissions (excluding lightning talks and submission for the extension showcases) is this Friday 19th August. If you are thinking about doing a session please make sure that you get the submission in before this dealine!
