Involving, and listening closely to feedback from the end user has been one of the key strategies for the development of CiviHR since before its first release. We are delighted to share that SNEHA (Society for Nutrition, Education and Health Action) has joined our end-user team on March 4th, 2014.

About SNEHA

SNEHA (http://www.snehamumbai.org/) believes that investing in women's health is essential to building viable urban communities. Through its programmes, it targets four large public health areas - maternal and newborn health, child health and nutrition, sexual and reproductive health and prevention of violence against women and children. It has been serving communities in Mumbai, India for over two decades and has now grown to around 400 staff.

Ms. Aparna Patil, HR Manager at SNEHA, has worked in a variety of settings in the service sector and brings sixteen years of experience with her. She shared how difficult it was becoming for her to manage employee records, recruitment, compliance, performance appraisals and more using spreadsheets. She has been very enthusiastic about working with the CiviHR team to develop a software that will help her to manage her workload better, and will also benefit other non-profit organizations. From a functionality perspective, she would like a software that inter alia keeps track of upcoming HR-related tasks and reminds her to get those done.

The Selection Process

Drishtant invited expressions of interest from its 300-strong network of non-profits. Applicant NGOs were shortlisted based on a number of criteria including:

  • Reputation and performance in their focus area
  • Staff strength: a minimum of 100 full-time/part time employees
  • Location: preferably based in Mumbai for deeper engagement
  • Point of Contact: a full-time HR/Administration manager with adequate experience of managing the HR function in a non-profit
  • Work culture: a progressive work ethic where teams are familiar with implementing processes and using technology to manage growth

Welcome aboard SNEHA! We are looking forward to some great ideas and robust feedback from this partnership.
