I've been working in cooperation with two other providers of tech services in the Yorkshire region of the UK over the last few months to establish a programme whereby we can build some awareness among third sector organisations in our part of the world about the potential of CRM as a concept and the existence of CiviCRM as an affordable means of implementing a CRM strategy in their organisations.

The first manifestation of this work will be an afternoon meetup/seminar on July 13th, enabling interested organisations to come together to learn more, take a no-obligation peek at CiviCRM and get a feel for the sort of benefits that a decent CRM tool can potentially deliver.

In addition we are hoping that anyone in the North of England who is already involved with CiviCRM in some way - be it as an end user, adminstrator, developer or other - will also join us for this first meetup in this part of the world.

We had another excellent meet up on Tuesday (June 12).  Our attendance was lower due to the terrential rain.  I was impressed that Dan actually was going to bike home 20 minutes during the downpour.

Our format was Q&A as it was last time and we are able to share a lot of questions/answers over the two hours.  I'm hoping to set up a gotomeeting for our Q3 meet up so that people looking to attend but unable to make it in person could particpate.  If your interested in that please please mark it on your registration or send me an email pkeogan@backofficethinking.com

Thanks again to AFSC for hosting!

Nfpservices are looking forward to the next CiviCRM London Seminar which will take place  on Tuesday 19th June at our London Office.

The seminar was a great success last month with several new organisations being introduced to CiviCRM and understanding the potential of the product.

During this session we will be demonstrating CiviCRM’s functionality and explaining how the solution can help an organisation take a low risk route to implementing its use.

This Seminar is free and ideal for anyone who is new to CiviCRM and would like to find out more, in addition to existing users and developers in the community.

The event is being held at our London Office on Tuesday 19th June from 10am to 12.30pm, with lunch and refreshments included.

Location           Miller Technology Limited
340 Gray's Inn Road
London, WC1X 8BG

Despite torrential rains yesterday, New York City's first CiviCRM Co-Working day was a hit. A diverse group of people representing workers unions, religious organizations, Occupy Wall Street, The Drupal Association and more gathered to work together. The morning started out withOUT coffee and donuts (we can blame the rain) yet everyone buckled down to work with Dave and Lobo standing by on IRC to answer any questions. After breaking for lunch and a case study presentation midday,  the true collaboration began with many questions asked and answered.

This was a much more satisfying model for those of us who have been organizing the monthly meetups because attendance was hirer and people seemed to really be mentoring one another while getting their own work done.  We'd love to get some feedback from those who did and didn't attend. At this point our thought is to hold CiviCRM Co-Working on the third Monday of each month. A nice way to kick off the week!

Here at Third Sector Design we're preparing for our next meet up which will take place on Wed 9th in Central London. The last one was excellent, with lots of people and 3 really interesting presentations on a wide range of topics.

This time we're going to be focusing on:

* CiviMobile - a new mobile app for CiviCRM

* Making CiviCRM webcasts

* CiviCRM case studies

These meet-ups are a really important point of contact for Civi users. Meeting up with other members of the community and hearing about how other users work with the software is invaluable for most people. The Third Sector Design team have just got back from California where we were attening CiviCon in Berkeley and then we went on to a 10 day codesprint out in the beautiful Sierra Nevada foothills. Both events were really inspiring as well as lots of fun; there's a general feeling that the community is radiply growing as more organisatons become...
