Using Drush with Drupal is standard practice for most developers, but since CiviCRM support was removed, many find themselves having to switch between separate command-line tools for each environment.

Seeing a need for continued Drush support in CiviCRM, Skvare’s developers released the CiviCRM Drush module for Drupal 8 and Drupal 9. Just as with Drupal, this module allows developers to support CiviCRM through a single command-line tool and continue previously established workflows. Edit media Image

It’s easy for CiviCRM users to get confused about where to find settings in the CiviCRM menu because the links may be nested within other menu items. This can lead them to look at multiple menu items to find the appropriate setting which can be frustrating to new users not familiar with the system. Enter the Quick Search CiviCRM Menu extension. Once the quick search extension is installed, menu items can be found much quicker. CiviCRM permissions are also considered.

One of the questions we occasionally get from our clients concerns how users can search for non-primary emails, addresses, and phone numbers in CiviCRM.  Because so many constituents use different emails for different purposes - one for billing, one for bulk emails, and so forth - it can become a challenge to locate people in your data.  However, we have a couple of suggestions for how you can search across all emails, phone numbers, and addresses.

Option 1: Add Them to Your Search Results

Nearly every client with whom we’ve worked over the years has wrestled with how to manage duplicate contacts in their Civi.  Although it’s impossible to eliminate duplicates completely, we do have some tried-and-true suggestions for minimizing them with as little risk as possible.

Creating effective duplicate rules is often more art than science.  You want to hit the sweet spot between removing the possibility that contacts are overwritten incorrectly, and setting the rule so restrictively that contacts are more frequently duplicated than not.
