This two hour on-line training on Friday, November 3rd (8 am PT/9 am MT/11 am ET) is perfect for new users of CiviCRM who would like to learn all the basics of CiviMember.
It's also ideal for those in charge of configuring the membership module, since the class covers the best way to set up membership types and explores the rules behind how CiviCRM automatically moves a membership from new to expired. We will walk through configuring an on-line membership page, so contacts can sign up for membership or renew on-line, and you'll learn how to input a new membership or take care of a renewal manually on the backend.
Click here for more information or to register, spaces are limited since class size is kept small to allow time for questions.
Please contact training manager Susan@cividesk.com with any questions.
Writing on the train back to London from the CivicCRM Sprint at Duvale Priory in mid-Devon, I can see why some people are willing to travel from across the world for the Sprint: it is a great way to spend a week. I went for the Developer Training, delivered by Parvez and Raj of Veda Consulting. The training was held for two days alongside a week's sprint (5 days + 2 travel days). I stayed for the rest of the Sprint.
Having looked at the code, and dipped into the developer documentation over the years, I still started with little idea of how the CiviCRM code works and is structured. My background is providing Drupal and WordPress support covering sysadmin, development, site building and front end work. One of my clients, Arts Professional, is a CiviCRM user and provided financial support for my attendance at the training. The training was pitched well for people like me, covering the...Read more

You are invited to the first CiviCamp in the UK, brought to you in Manchester, the “uncrowned capital of the north”! Firstly, for those not familiar with the term, what is a CiviCamp? It’s a bit like a CiviCon, the annual conference for CiviCRM, where people gather for workshops and networking, to get a better idea of what CiviCRM is capable of and how to implement it more effectively in their own workplace.
This CiviCamp is mainly focused at users and those who are exploring CiviCRM to implement, but we also welcome implementers and developers to come and share their knowledge with others, and to pick up ideas from the community.
We already have some confirmed workshops, including: Introduction to CiviCRM, Using CiviEvents to manage training, Data Protection for the Third Sector, CiviHR, Open Data, CiviCRM and SMS, and the CiviBooking Extensions.
