International Justice Mission UK
International Justice Mission is a human rights organisation that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression. IJM lawyers, investigators and aftercare professionals work with local officials to ensure immediate victim rescue and aftercare, to prosecute perpetrators and to promote functioning public justice systems.
IJM staff work in their communities in 12 countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America to secure tangible and sustainable protection for victims of injustice through implementation of national laws through local court systems
Challenges
IJM rely on many individual donors to continue operating. They were using the Charity Choice website to handle donations, which at the time did not support recurring giving and took donors away from the site to a slightly clunky interface. IJM needed to improve the donation process.
Solution
We upgraded the site from Drupal 6 to 7 and then installed CiviCRM. We then implemented CiviCRM’s powerful contributions system to set up a donation page and provide on site payments through integration with Paypal Standard. This required us to provide SSL security and PCI compliance to ensure the security of donors’ payment details. We also customised the visual appearance of the contribution pages to improve the user experience and make it clearer to donors where their money goes.
