NAMI Louisville

The client needed a CRM for their annual fundraising "Walk for Recovery". The walk involves two ways to donate: 1) register to walk as yourself or as a team - $25 registration fee 2) sponsor an existing walker or team - $ variable. Some customization was done to allow this: 1. Setup a donation page, with several contribution amounts 2. Enable personal contribution pages (PCP) 3. Use jQuery to hide all but the $25 registration fee on the normal version of the contribution page 4. Use jQuery to hide the $25 registration fee on the PCP view of the contribution page (for sponsors) 5. Use a custom written query to display a list of active PCP pages, with links to each page, so the sponsors can find their friends/family 6. With the introduction of offline credits for PCP pages in 3.4, a MIH initiative that this client helped sponsor it is possible to credit cash and check donations the day of the event to the walker or team being sponsored with ease This is a Make-it-Happen and Personal Contribution Page success story!

Background

NAMI wanted to provide an easy-to-use system to register and sponsor walkers for the annual "Nami Louisville Walk for Recovery". NAMI helps raise awareness, eliminate stigmas, and provide support for those suffering from mental illness.

Challenges

The PCP offline contributions were a real hassle and had to be performed by a programmer manually in the MySQL database on the first year. By the second annual walk, the PCP feature was sponsored and created by MIH and it was MUCH easier for the staff to handle offline contributions themselves.

Solution

CiviCRM was already in place when Korlon became involved. Upgraded from 2.2 to 3.1, and then 3.1 to 3.4.

Functionality

Personal Contribution (Campaign) Pages

Korlon LLC staff, and principal Stuart only.
