dev-team - official CiviCRM announcement

CiviCRM version 5.75.0 is now ready to download. This is a regular monthly release. Upgrade now for the most stable CiviCRM experience:

Version 5.75 is a CiviCRM Extended Security Release (ESR). Version 5.69 is still supported until the end of July 2024. We strongly encourage ESR subscribers to upgrade to version 5.75.

We are committed to keeping CiviCRM free and open, forever. We depend on your support to help make that happen. We thank all our partners, members and ESR subscribers, who are regular financial contributors. If you can, please donate.

What's new in CiviCRM 5.75

Custom Fields "is searchable" setting is now "optimize for search"
Previously, only custom custom fields that had the setting "is searchable" were exposed to the Advanced Search and to Reports. Having this flag also meant that the field was optimized for search (e.g. a database index). This was a recurrent source of confusion. Now all fields are exposed to search and reports.

WordPress WPML support
CiviCRM now provides a better integration with the WordPress WPML plugin (in addition to Polylang).

Big thanks to Andie Hunt, Alice Frumin and Jon Goldberg for putting up together release notes. See also the version-specific upgrade tasks. The last entry goes back to CiviCRM 5.67, regarding smarty tokens being phased of Message Templates.
