Over the past few months we've been consolidating our various domains (openngo.org, socialsourcefoundation.org) into one domain civicrm.org. We've also moved most of our infrastructure services from facilities in poland (a big thanx to michal, piotr and caltha.pl for setting this up and helping us grow) to our new hosting providers Electric Embers (they are incredibly helpful, very reasonable prices and do a great job serving the non-profit sector). Also a big thanx to the folks at Eggplant Active Media Cooperative who designed and implemented our new look and feel.

We are pleased to announce the latest release of CiviCRM - version 1.5. Special thanks to the dedicated folks who contributed to this release by testing the alpha and beta revisions - and to everyone in the community who provided new ideas, feedback (especially critical feedback), and patches. What's new in 1.5? This release includes CiviMember - a new membership management component, and Search Builder - a new tool for building complex search queries. CiviNode is a module and API that exposes CiviCRM contacts, groups, and other CiviCRM object types to Drupal as nodes. It's designed to make CiviCRM easier to use and integrate with all of the Drupal tools and techniques you've come to know and love. For example, once you've mirrored a CiviCRM contact into Drupal, you will be able to:

* Catagorize it with taxonomies * Attach event or location information * Track what's happening with the contact with a work-flow * Control the way it displays by theming it.

Drupal provides a very strong taxonomy system to classify content. Contacts could benefit from that taxonomy functionality.
