This year, around 25 dedicated and fascinating people have gathered together in Edale, Peak District, to make improvements, discuss progress, and learn more about the CiviCRM project. Some have already left us and some will be here right up to the end of the weekend, but we have all contributed to the project in a helpful and constructive way.

As the title implies, we’ve stuck our toe into improving the contributor framework before, but never quite settled on the best approach. But, it’s high time we do so. Why? Because contributors are key to sustaining and improving CiviCRM. The trouble is and has always been that recognizing, rewarding and encouraging contributions from the community is a complex task.

Mosaico Phase II - CiviMail workflow integration

CiviGmail is a chrome extension for Gmail, which allows Gmail to directly interact with CiviCRM via OAuth2. Once authorized emails can be filed as activities in CiviCRM. Idea is to support same set of features like CiviOutlook, reusing its apis.

We received quite a lot of interest and feedback on our initial release. We're happy to announce that most of the requests have been resolved and the extension is ready for production use.

Ruta Civica (Civic Route) is a Mexican volunteer based organization working in civic education and promoting citizen participation in public affairs. Through different campaigns, our mission is to develop the involvement of citizens in the making of the Constitution and laws for Mexico City and its urban planning. Since land zoning, construction and public works decisions have to pursue the public interest. We organize and train neighborhood committees and groups, as well as provide independent technical expert advice on urban and sustainability projects. We also work in educating, preventing and denouncing corruption.

One of the top goals for the CiviCRM roadmap is to improve the theming to look good on more websites and devices. That's a big task and it won't happen overnight, but I want to stop and appreciate the progress we've already made plus other improvements in the works:

Our goal has always been for CiviHR to be both affordable in price and comprehensive in features. In pursuit of the latter, our attention is now turning to the planning of the Recruitment module.

We know recruitment is a time consuming, but essential part of the HR process. We want to design set of features that will make an HR manager’s life easier by automating such things as emailing candidates, scheduling interviews, and collaborating internally on the hiring process.
