We just concluded our second boot camp in San Francisco earlier today. Running a boot camp is a bit harder than it seems. We'd like to thank the good folks from Chicago Techonology Cooperative (Tom, Brandon), Center for Media and Democracy (CMD) (Blake, Patricia) and USPIRG/FFPIR (Wes) for attending and being willing and gracious bootcamp participants

Kurund and Lobo will be in New York City on Dec 19th / 20th. We will tailor the session based on the needs of the folks who sign up :)

If you are interested please send me an email (lobo at yahoo dot com) along with ideas on what you'd like the session to be about. We'd love to get some user feedback, comments and critique of CiviCRM. We'll spend some time explaining a few things coming in CiviCRM v2.0

We conducted our first ever developer bootcamp for a group of developers from TechSoup. The bootcamp was spread over two days and four sessions. Each session was approx three hours long. Overall we felt the bootcamp was a success. We also ended up with a couple of new features for CiviCRM v2.0.

Last week, another one of excellent events organised by Aspiration happened in Zagreb.

We’re happy to announce that CiviCRM 2 will be licensed under the freshly-released GNU Affero General Public License Version 3.

We have slipped the code freeze release date by a week for CiviCRM 2.0 to Dec 10, 2007. At this point, we have not changed the other dates on the schedule. We are hoping to meet those dates, but this being the holidays and given our travel / consulting / camp schedule, we might slip the other dates by a week or two.

A while ago, I gave a brief preview of new CiviCRM's functionality in 2.0 on this blog. "Two-point-oh" was a bit of a "wild dreams" back than - but it didn't really lasted long when we got into the stage where this milestone version is behind the door.

And it all began like normal Barcamp (like any other non-conference). As we all know, most of the developers are nocturnal, yet again CodeCampMumbai was no exception and started off schedule.

I am here with one of my colleagues(Deepak) to work on Facebook plugin for CiviCRM. Some initial specs on this feature: Facebook Integration

Other interesting projects include lighting up bulb using web interface(PHP), Mapping and Adding Events on Google Map.

As some of you are aware, we have an excellent development team in Mumbai, India (managed by Web Access). Open source in india is starting to get more traction and we'd like to play our part in moving this along at a faster rate :)

We (dave greenberg and lobo) will be running a two day Developer's Bootcamp in San Francisco on December 10-11. This will be a working session, during which we will work through one or more actual client projects with defined requirements and workflow - and design (and implement - if time) a solution. We will also be reviewing CiviCRM architecture from the point of view of component developers - using specifications for a potential new component as a springboard.
